Margaret Beets

June 14, 1910 — January 18, 2015

Beets, Margaret was born on June 14, 1910 to William and Marge Waits of Cincinnati and lived most of her life in Ohio. She married Winfred N. Beets in 1931 and was widowed in 1987 after a brief residence in Florida. She was active throughout her life in many school, community and church activities such as Brownies, Girl Scouts, PTA president, garden clubs and started the Children's Vacation Bible School at the Newtown Methodist Church where she also played piano, taught Sunday School and planned children's entertainments. After becoming a widow, Margaret returned to Cincinnati and became an active member of the Anderson Hills United Methodist Church and leader of the 'Over 65 Circle' which was instrumental in the publishing of 'The Power of Our Heritage 1820-1992.' She was a longtime active and happy resident of Twin Towers on Hamilton Ave. She is the beloved mother of Barbara J. (Edgar) Smith of Hendersonville, NC, and Joan C. (Frank) Weikel of Punta Gorda, FL, dear grandmother of Neal (Jean) Rumpke of Cinti., Kimberly J. Day of Jacksonville, FL, and the late Scott Rumpke, also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Jan. 18, 2014. Age 104 years.
