Marianne Myers

February 12, 1935 — December 2, 2019

Marianne Celine Myers (nee Boyd), cherished wife of C. William (Bill) for sixty blessed and fun-filled years, entered peacefully into the house of her eternal Father on December 2, 2019, after a brief illness. She was proud to be the daughter of Cincinnati Enquirer Vice President and Managing Editor, the late Everett M. Boyd and Mary (Harrington) Boyd.
Marianne will be missed deeply by her five children, Michele (R. Scott) Beuerlein, Kathleen Myers, Douglas (Dawn) Myers, Patricia Myers and Christina Myers.
Loving grandmother of Michael Beuerlein and Tom (Amanda) Beuerlein; Ryan Myers (and daughter Guinevere), John (Abby) Myers (and daughter Juliette), Kristen Myers, Branden (Ashley) Taylor, Brent Taylor and Lauren Taylor (and son Carson); and Will Dixon.
Sister of the late Michael (Eileen) Boyd, and Paul (Kathy Dunne) Boyd. Aunt of Stephen, Thom, Peter, Kevin Boyd; and Devin Boyd.
Sister-in-law of Carole Jean (the late Joe) Bonno, and aunt of their children Gina (Gary), Vincent (Kristin), Maria (David) and Tony (Andrea). Grandaunt to their children and descendants.
In her own words, Marianne "had a great life" and was ready to embark on the next stage of her soul's journey.
She treasured the lifelong friendships made at Saint Mary's Grade and High Schools. She was proud to have earned two degrees: a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Radio-TV Arts Department of the College of Music of Cincinnati where she and Bill met.
The exciting new world of television led Marianne to jobs at Frederick W. Ziv Television Programs, a TV and radio program syndicator, and in the Special Broadcast Services Department at WLW Radio and Television. Bill Myers already had been working at WLW-WLWT, and it was there that Cupid's arrow struck and their extraordinary love story began.
Marianne always was a gifted writer. Many friends fondly remember her descriptive and personalized letters, cards and emails. The Boyd writing gene was generously passed along to her children. A lifelong Cincinnatian, Marianne was a tireless tour guide eager to share her favorite city's beauty and history. She was very much a "people person," thoroughly enjoying social events and generous with her time, attention and patience for those in need.
Marianne felt blessed to have many family members in town for the Thanksgiving weekend. They were able to share stories back and forth, have some laughter and tears, kisses and hugs, and say heartfelt goodbyes before her wish was realized for a peaceful departure, fortified by the sacraments of Holy Mother Church.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Saint John Fisher Church, Newtown, Ohio, on Thursday, December 12. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Marianne's wish was that in lieu of flowers any memorials be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children - Cincinnati, to Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation or to Saint John Fisher Church, Newtown, Ohio, which was so much a part of her life for six decades.
