MOHR, MARILYN L. (nee Schneider); of Mt. Washington; 04-27-2024; age 99.
Loving wife of the late Edward W. Mohr for 67 years, and dear mother of Edward G. (Teresa) Mohr of Lake Orion, MI. Beloved sister of Shirley Coyne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was the first born daughter of Ed & Hattie Schneider. She was born in Oakley, grew up in Hyde Park, and attended Withrow high school. She loved to draw and had a talent for art from an early age, drawing planes, portraits and dress designs. In her senior year, she won a scholarship to Central Academy of Commercial Arts for their fashion design school, however was not able to pursue this award. After high school, she worked 5 years at the Johnson Electric company, where she met "Eddie", her future husband of 67 years. They led a life of love for each other, and one of sharing and caring for others.
Marilyn enjoyed bowling in her younger years, and was an avid golfer in numerous leagues. She was an accomplished artist and painter, and continued her talent throughout her life. She was a woman of deep faith, devoted to the Virgin Mary, praying the Rosary often, and very active in many capacities at Guardian Angels parish.
Marilyn loved life, and being around and helping others, always willing to volunteer her time when needed. She spent her final years at Arden Courts memory care facility, and even at that stage she still was being helpful. She would say, "I try to help the other people here if they're sad, I talk with them or just hold their hand, it helps them and it helps me. Maybe that's why God put me here". Her other favorite saying was "life's too short not to love people". This embodied her entire life, as a very loving and caring person to her husband, her son, daughter-in-law, and everyone she met.
The family will receive friends on Sunday May 5th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the T.P. White Funeral home, 2050 Beechmont Ave. in Mt. Washington. Mass of Christian burial will be at Guardian Angels Church on Monday May 6th at 10:30 am. Memorial donations may be made to The Holy Spirit Center in Norwood, OH, or the Guardian Angels St. Vincent de Paul Society.
