Martha Forbes

Forbes, Martha J. of Mt. Carmel/Anderson Township, beloved wife of Kenneth M. Forbes for 53 years, passed away August 31, 2014 at age 72. She was born in a cabin at the foot of the Smoky Mountains, Townsend, TN. Her family moved to Covington, KY where she and 4 siblings were raised by their grandmother. She graduated from Holmes High School, worked as a Xerox Service Rep for 16 years (retired), and homeschooled preschool children. Martha was a talented writer and speaker, winning several state awards. She was very devoted to her family and a cherished mother, grandmother and sister to: Children: Cynthia C. Schmidt (Steve), James E. Sparks, K. Bradley Forbes (Kelly), Bobbie J. Hutchinson (Scott), Susan L. Coldiron (Geoff), Kathi A. Davidson (Will), Kristin L. Alvarez (Patrick). Grandchildren: Steven (Cameron) and Kelsey Schmidt; Crystal Adams Davenport (Josh Rader) and Stacy Sparks; Brandon (Janelle), Megen, Makayla and John Forbes; Lauren Buffenbarger; Evan and Jayme Coldiron; Morgan McCleary, Justin and Payton Davidson; Julia, Olivia, Alexa and Christina Alvarez; Jodi Fowler, Ryan MacMillan and Drew Statton.Great Grandchildren: Tyler Davenport and Brianna Rader Siblings: Henry Sparks (Kathy), James Sparks (Sima), Bobbie Staggs (George), Marvin Rocky Sparks (Cathy), Debbie Redmon (Will), Darlene Durbin (Tom). Preceded in death by: Edward Sparks-brother and Debra A. MacMillan-daughter Service at T P White and Sons Funeral Home in Mt. Washington on Friday, September 5. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with service to follow at 11:00. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, 2167 Dixie Hwy Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017.
