Martin (Marty) Guy Wagner, 71 years old, living in St George Island, Florida and Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on 11/16/2024.
Marty was born on 05/21/1953 in St. Louis, MO to his mother, Louise Vande Bogart and father, Walter Wagner.
He is survived by his wife Carol Shaver Wagner, daughters, Kathryn Wagner Mallick and Kimberly Wagner Frazier, his son-in-laws, Michael Mallick and Chad Frazier, and grandchildren, Draven Mallick, Arabella Mallick Grace Mallick, Leonardo Frazier.
Marty graduated from Ohio University and went on to a long career as a successful sales representative for scientific laboratory equipment. He retired early and promptly began to spend half his year in St George Island, Florida. Every Memorial Day he looked forward to spending a week purely focused on saltwater fly fishing where his ultimate peak (realized a couple times) was to catch a permit on the fly.
With a goal of traveling to all seven continents, Marty and his wife Carol, had traveled to five continents, and the far reaches of the globe, (including Antarctica) and were set to go to Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and the Arctic in 2025.
Marty generously donated to fund annual student scholarships to Northern Montana University, the university his grandfather founded in 1929. He believed in the importance of giving back to charities supporting those who need it most.
Full of life and love, Marty had a rare knack for being able to make everyone comfortable in his presence. He could meet just about anyone with a smile that lacked judgment. Marty was extroverted and loved spending time with friends - of which he had many - and his family.
He will be deeply missed.
Memorial Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, 3pm-4pm at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave, Mt. Washington. Memorial Service to follow at 4pm.
