Zistler, Mary H. 'Mermie' May 12, 2014, age 57 years; beloved daughter of Joseph L. and the late Mary M. Zistler (nee Roll); dear sister of Joseph (Lynn), John (Margie), James (Cathy), the late Antonia Robinette 'Robin', Jerome (Cindy), and Jeffrey (Holly); devoted niece of Fred (Fritz) and Joyce Zistler, Beth Cremering and the late Robert Cremering, John Roll and the late Dorothy Roll, the late Helen Davis; loving aunt to Joseph (Laura), Aaron (Christy), Thomas (Nicole), Brian, Lauren, and Greg; great-aunt to Andrew, Cameron, Mackenzie, Dane, Tristan, Jeremy, Hayden, and Sarah; Godmother of Serenity Dyer; also survived by many cousins and other loving family & friends, including Drema Jones, Barb Dyer, & Nancy Morris. Music was the center of Mary's life. Mary helped organize and was a member of the first guitar group at Guardian Angels Church 'Strings & Things'. She specialized in folk and blue grass music and formed a blue grass band that later became known 'Mary s Coney Island Blue Grass Band'. Her band performs monthly at the American Legion Post 484. Mary published a book dedicated to her father in 2009, titled 'A Little Bit of Me'. It is a collection of many of the songs Mary wrote throughout different phases of her life. Mary grew up and lived her life in the Mt. Washington community. She attended both Guardian Angels School and McNicholas High School (Class of 1975). Throughout her life, Mary excelled in athletics. There wasn t a sport she didn t love. Her softball team was competitive on a national level. Just a few years ago she took up golfing and received an award for a Hole-In-One in just her first year of golfing. Mary worked for many years up until her death at Cincinnati Bell. For the better part of her career she was the Systems Administrator at Good Samaritan Hospital and TriHealth, ensuring communication for the medical staff and patients. Mass of Christian Burial at Guardian Angels Church Mt. Washington on Tues. May 20, at 11 AM. Friends may visit at the CHURCH on Tues. from 9:30 AM - 11 AM.
