Michael Merz

Michael James Merz, 76, of Anderson Township, OH passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 6, 2024. Mike was married 25 years to Patricia who has since passed. He was born in 1948 to Maurice J and Mary (Heim) Merz.

Mike was an accomplished Respiratory Therapist for more than forty years with thirty of those years working at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish as well as a member of The Knights of Columbus. His faith was very important to him.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family whether it was hosting a game night of Dominos with friends, teaching his grandchildren about his passion for trains, traveling, or just having a nice long conversation. He was always kind, loving, patient, and easy going.

Mike is survived by his daughters Sara (Danielle Froelicher), Christina, Step daughter Lisa Butler (Datha Harrison), Stepson Bill Butler (Mindy), Grandchildren Bailey Gilligan (Casey), Will Butler, Grace Merz-Johnston, Greenlee Merz-Brown, Clair Harrison, Emma Harrison, Great Grandson Luca, brother Dan (Judy), sisters Linda Mullen (Mike), Beth Leibreich (Pat), the mother of his children Debbie, and countless cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lindsay and brother Greg.
