Nancy C. Emery, 89, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023. She was born on January 22, 1934 in Worcester, MA to Paul and Greta Carlson, who immigrated from Sweden eight years earlier. After attending art school in Worcester, she met and married Robert Emery in 1954. They celebrated 69 years of marriage this past June.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Emery, and children, Doug Emery, Dayle (Fred) Baxter, and Jim (Duchess) Emery. She was a loving grandmother to Tom (Jamie) Baxter, Jen (Travis) Kidman, Sara (Brent) Heider, Lisa (Brian) Birkel, and Samantha Emery; great-grandmother to Ellie Baxter, Luke Baxter, Rylie Kidman, Drew Kidman, Ava Baxter, Ayden Heider, Eva Heider, Alayna Birkel, and Owen Birkel. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Zach Emery and by daughters-in-law Margo Emery and Tess Emery.
Nancy was a very active member of St. Timothys Episcopal Church where she served in a variety of capacities, especially enjoying the church gardening and the country store. She was a member of the The Happy Gardeners garden club for many years. Nancys hobbies included flower arranging, gardening, reading, and spending time with friends, neighbors, and the birthday girls. She was a member of the church choir and the New England Club chorus.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St. Timothys Episcopal Church, 8101 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati OH, 45255. The service will be followed by a lunch reception in the fellowship hall and all are welcome.
