Orville M. (Jack) Hill, born Mar. 31, 1932 in Kalamazoo, MI, Jack passed away in Cincinnati, OH on Wed., Nov. 9, at the age of 84 years. He died with his family by his side. Son of Orville Sr. and Lucille Hill, brother Richard Hill (deceased, Littleton, CO), and brother of Yvonne Wright (deceased, Denver, CO). Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjory, daughter Diane, and son Joel, all of Cincinnati. Jack graduated from Kalamazoo State High School in 1950, where he was active in sports, golf and football. He won the Kalamazoo Junior Golf Championship for two years in a row. He graduated from Western Michigan University in Business Administration, in 1954. While at Western he played for the golf team. Upon graduation from WMU, Jack served in the US Army from 1954-56, spending 18 months in France and Spain. Jack married Marjory (Hoeksema), of Kalamazoo, MI in 1957. He began working for Gibson Guitar and later Masonite Corporation. He then spent the majority of his working years as a sales representative and regional manager for Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation. As well as enjoying sports, Jack was a skilled musician and he played trumpet, trombone, guitar, and ukulele. He sang tenor with the adult choir at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he was an active member for several years. Jack especially enjoyed guitar, folk and bluegrass music. Upon retirement Jack did volunteer work for the Red Cross, Hoxworth Blood Center, and Habitat for Humanity. Marge and Jack spent 15 years of their retirement in their condo in Bradenton, FL. There Jack played tennis six days a week with three different groups. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Cincinnati, OH for over 30 years.
