Patricia Ann (Waite) Tenney, 78, passed away September 7, 2021 at Hospice of Cincinnati following a brief illness. “Pat” was born on October 15, 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut to Catherine and Adam Waite and was an only child. She graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School in Massachusetts. She then attended Cooley Dickinson Hospital Nursing School in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She accepted a nursing position at Medfield State Hospital where she met psychologist and future husband, John L. Tenney, who preceded her in death in December 2001.
After their marriage at St. Brigid’s Church in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the couple settled in Taunton, Massachusetts. Pat graduated from Bridgewater State College with her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Psychology, and worked for many decades as Director of Nurses at Bridgewater State Hospital. After her retirement from Bridgewater State Hospital, Pat and John opened their own counseling practice, Behavioral Consultants, in Taunton, Massachusetts where they continued to serve those in their community for many years.
Pat was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Taunton, Massachusetts, where she served as a lector, eucharistic minister and catechism teacher for decades. She was also an extremely proud member of and served as President of the Massachusetts Nurses Association for years. After relocating to Cincinnati, Ohio, Pat was an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Pat was extremely beloved and had many friends and was a volunteer and member at the Anderson (Cincinnati) Senior Center. Until her final days, Pat spent her time caring for and visiting her sick and isolated friends.
Pat’s greatest love were her two children, Kate T. Perron and her husband, Jason Perron, of Tarpon Springs, Florida and her son, Dr. Jeffrey R. Tenney and his wife, Nicole Merrill, of Cincinnati, Ohio. If you knew Pat, you knew that her children and grandchildren were her proudest achievement. She was a doting grandmother to her five, beloved grandchildren; Emma, Amelia, and Samantha Perron, and Adrianna and Edwin Tenney.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents Catherine (Russell) and Adam Waite.
Due to Covid restrictions, a memorial service and burial will be postponed until a later date.
