SIECK, Paul Edward, 86, of Anderson Twp., passed away on July 14, 2016, at Hospice of Cincinnati after a long battle with a blood disease (MDS). He died as he lived, surrounded by his loving family. He met his beloved Carol Ruth (née Mills) on a blind date and they were married for 55 years before her death. He always said that wasn't long enough. Paul was a devoted father to his four children, the late Paul David Sieck, Sandra Baker (Mark Radojits), Rebecca (Steve) Burgan and Sally Sieck, a loving grandfather to Ashley (Jebediah) Ramsey, Zachary Baker, Alexander Burgan, Elizabeth Burgan, and Maria Henriquez, and an adoring great-grandfather to newborn Sadie Ramsey. He could discipline children with "the look", but was really an old softy. He was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. He was a veteran of the Army and the National Guard. He was vice president of manufacturing by trade, a dancer, gymnast, gardener, and woodworker by heart, and an avid champion of the underdog. Education was a priority for him. He served on PTAs, tax levy campaigns, was chairman of the White House Conference on Education, and president of the Cincinnati School Foundation. Always looking to help others, he donated blood for sixty years. In death, as in life, he chose "the loving thing" - to donate his body to the University of Cincinnati. In keeping with his spirit, lifesaving donations may be made in his name to Hoxworth Blood Center. Visitation at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 23, at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave, Mt. Washington. Followed by a memorial service at 4:00.
