Raymond "Ray" Schneider

September 15, 1955 — December 11, 2019

Raymond P. Schneider was a wonderful soul. He worked for the wonderful Hollaender Mfg Co, who treated Ray like family long after he retired from the company. He became a 4th Degree in Knights of Columbus, just like his Grandpa, and volunteered at the Cincinnati Zoo and local hospitals for a number of years. We miss him already... We miss his giggle, and his laugh when ya really got him going. How will we know what the weather is going to be next week. What if we forget the 241-1010 number. Who will remind is to take an umbrella when we need it? Who will remind us when our favorite teams are playing? He was so sweet, so kind, so generous, and we've actually had to stop him once from giving away the shirt off his back. There's no one else like him. It's not possible for anyone to love the Cincinnati Zoo more than he did. He loved his family, and was so proud of all of us. He bragged constantly, to anyone who would listen about each of our accomplishments and life events. He loved to give compliments and make you feel like a million bucks. He's leaving such an impossibly big hole in our lives. He was an artist, and a lover of all beings. He loved to call just to share what was going on on Andy Griffith or Gunsmoke, or to tell us what channel our favorite movie was on, no matter how many times we told him we didn't have cable. He found the good in everyone and tried to help as many people as he could with whatever he had. He was a shameless flirt, and tried his best to put a smile on every stranger's face... especially the pretty ones... We miss him so much. Even when he was angry he couldn't help but tell you to have a good night and to take care, right in the middle of his frustrated rant. He always made ya laugh. We really miss Ol' Twinkle Toes", "Ray Ray", "Ray Dog", "Zoo Dog" Schneider. He was a kind soul, and an inspiration, and we were so blessed and grateful to have him in our lives I hope we can all learn to love, fight, flirt, inform, inspire, and give, as much as he did. Ray is survived by his sister Tecla (Schneider) Steinfort and her husband Ken, and sister Pamela (Schneider) Osley and her husband Mike, brother Timothy Schneider and his wife Janice (Asbrock) , nieces Lisa Sierra-Foster and her husband Danny, Isha Emley-Strasser and her husband Dan, niece Danielle Brown, niece Kelsey Goodridge and her husband Jon, and nephew Keegan Swain along with a number of great nieces and nephews and good friends and neighbors.
