Richard A. Hilgendorf, beloved husband of Mary Ann Hilgendorf (nee Swift). Loving and devoted father of Kathy (Jeff) Wyatt, Doug (Raquel) Hilgendorf, Mike (Val) Hilgendorf and Barb Sluder. Loving and devoted grandpa of George Kramer, Brandi Sheldon, Shane Hilgendorf, Austin Wyatt, Hayden Sluder, Brady Sluder, Jared Hilgendorf, Whitney Sluder and Sydney Hilgendorf. Caring brother of Joyce Hoeksema, the late Harold A. "Jack" Hilgendorf and the late Jean Van Pelt. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Passed away on October 11, 2023 at the age of 87. Resident of Union Township.
Richard Hilgendorf was referred to by his nickname "Dick". His sense of humor and quick wit made everyone who met him instantly comfortable. He thoroughly enjoyed many things, but biking, watching OSU Football, golfing, and talking politics, and attending grandchildren's games were his favorite things to do. He attended games at Anderson, Milford & West Clermont High School for many sports and the grandchildren loved his support. He also coached baseball in the 1970's and 1980's and created many memories which he cherished.
Dick Hilgendorf was married to his wife Mary Ann for 61 years. He attended Catholic church every Sunday in Cincinnati at St. Rose and St. Veronica. He loved his wife's cooking and always looked forward to family gatherings. He knew he had a wonderful and full life and he will be deeply missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Veronica Church, 4473 Mount Carmel Tobasco Rd, Cinti, OH 45244, on Thurs. Oct. 26, 2023, at 12 noon. Friends may visit the Church on Thurs. from 11am-12pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
