Richard Bonvillain

November 7, 1926 — January 12, 2023

Richard H. Bonvillain was born November 7,1926 in Erath, LA, raised in Opelousas, LA and passed
peacefully in Cincinnati, OH on January 12, 2023 at the age of 96. Richard attended St. Benedict
Seminary in Covington, LA and studied at Catholic University in Washington, DC. While in the US
ARMY, he worked in Intelligence at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. He met the love of his life,
JoAnne Feeney, while working there. After being transferred to Germany by the US ARMY, he and
JoAnne married there in 1958. He and JoAnne later returned to the United States and he started his last
career at Xavier University, where he taught Philosophy for 35 years and received his PhD.

He is preceded in death by his beloved JoAnne, parents, Henry and Evelyn Stagg Bonvillain and his
brother, Donald Bonvillain. He is survived by his sister, Barbara B. Nickens and her husband, Glynn
Nickens of Huntsville, AL, and her children Donna Caldwell Bice (Bruce), Laura Caldwell Verschoore
(Patrick), Anne Caldwell Kennedy (Dewayne), Mark Caldwell (Debbie), Greg Caldwell (Michelle),
Christopher Caldwell (Teresa); and by his nephew, Michael Bonvillain of California, his niece Elizabeth
Bonvillain Kamin (Daniel) and their son of Houston, TX, and by several great nieces and great nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Xavier University'sBellarmine Chapel in Cincinnati, OH., on
Monday, January 23 at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Cincinnati. T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home serving the family. www.tpwhite.com
