Robert (Bob) Dames passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Teresa (nee Sullivan). He is also survived by his 5 children and their spouses Peter (Barb) Dames, Beth (Ed) Braemer, Bob (Kelly) Dames, Mike (Randi) Dames and Eileen (Kevin) Sullivan, 14 grandchildren , their spouses and 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was pre-deceased by his much loved brother Tom of Ponte Vedra, FL.

Bob was born on April 2, 1929 in Bayonne, NJ to Peter and Anne Dames. After the death of his mother when he was 9 yrs old, Bob and his brother Tom were raised by his father. He attended Holy Family Academy and earned a degree in chemistry from St. Peters University. Bob also obtained an Advanced Management degree/certificate from Harvard University. Bob served in Korea as a lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers. Bob and Terry were married on May 7, 1955 and lived in New Jersey until his job transferred him and his family to Cincinnati in 1972. Bob had a long and distinguished career with Emery Industries in Sales and Marketing, retiring as Vice-President of Marketing and International Business.

After retirement in 1990, Bob and Terry traveled to Ireland, Italy and throughout the US. Bob loved to sing and was active in church choirs with his beautiful Irish tenor voice. He was an expert body surfer in the ocean in both NJ and NC, and passed this knowledge joyfully to his children and grandchildren. His kindness, generosity and loyalty knew no bounds and many were lucky to call him friend. Bob always said that his greatest accomplishment in life was his marriage to his loving wife Terry.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Fisher Church in Newtown on Thursday, April 26th at 11 am. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 10 to 11 am. A private family interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
