Robert (Bob) G. Eisen, age 86 of Union Twp., passed away, April 4, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Joan Eisen (nee Longbottom) for 62 years. Loving father of James (Angela) Eisen, Diane (Gregg) Eisen-Pieples, and Kathy (Greg) Hupp. Dear grandfather of Christian Eisen, Jordan Eisen, Grant Pieples, Avery Hupp, Devin Pieples, Sydney (Riley) Steward , Kendall Pieples, and Colton Hupp. Dear brother of the late John (Carol) Eisen.
Bob was born and raised in Norwood. He spent most of his adolescence there and graduated from Norwood High School. Shortly after graduation, Bob enlisted in the Army and spent 2 years serving our country.
When he returned from the military, he married the love of his life, Joan, in 1962. Bob and Joan had been neighbors when Bob was 15 and Joan was 10 years old. They spent 62 years together building a life with 3 kids and 8 grandkids. Bob worked most of his life as a computer programmer until he retired at the age of 61.
Bob could not sit still after retiring so he spent the next 17 years volunteering in West Clermont Township. At Clermont Mercy Hospital, he worked that front desk greeting patients and visitors and helping them find where they needed to go. A few of his grandkids were in the West Clermont school district and when volunteers were needed, he quickly raised his hand. He mentored young kids at Clough Pike Elementary helping them learn to read. Finally, he volunteered at Save the Animal Foundation where he adopted 4 cats over the years. When he was not volunteering, you could find him at one of his grandkids school functions, sport games, meets or competitions.
Because of COVID, Bob was forced to stop volunteering which was devastating for him. However, he still followed the sports he loved: car racing, the Bengals and FC Cincinnati. When he turned 85, he finally was able to see his first FC Cincinnati game at TQL stadium. It was a family affair with Joan, his kids and grandkids. He even had his name on the jumbotron.
Bob will be missed by so many. His love of storytelling, wicked sense of humor and great belly laugh is something we will miss but a skill that has been picked up by a few of his grandkids. Bob had a great life and we hope to continue his sense of service in his honor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Fisher Church on Friday, April 11th at 11 am where family and friends may visit from 10 am until time of Mass. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A private family interment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home serving the family.
