Robert Goosman

Goosman, Robert L., 91 years passed away on March 24 at Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash. Son of the late Carl and Vera Goosman, he was proceeded in death by his first wife, Lois. He is survived by his loving wife Mary (Kepler), his daughter Diana Scott (David), his son Gary (Mary Ann Westendorf), granddaughter Leslie Silbernagel (Mathew), grandson Jesse Goosman and great grandson Miles Silbernagel. He was a graduate of Withrow High School, class of 1941. He served in the US Army in WWII as a Lieutenant. He attended the University of Cincinnati on the GI Bill and graduated in 1948. He began his career in finance at Crosley Manufacturing before moving to Lycoming Aircraft of Williamsport, PA. Returning to Cincinnati in 1964, he was treasurer and Vice President of Avco Broadcasting (WLW). He ended his career as General Manager of Avco International. He served on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society and Hospice of Cincinnati. He retired in 1989 and with wife Mary moved to Hobe Sound, FL. Having traveled extensively through the Middle East and Europe for his work he always called Cincinnati home.Visitation and services will be held at TP White and Sons Funeral Home in Mt. Washington on Friday, March 28, 2014. Visitation is from 12:30 - 1:30 pm immediately followed by a memorial service. Entombment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made to Withrow High School, Hospice of Cincinnati or the American Cancer Society.
