Martin, Robert C. died peacefully on November 15, 2015 in Cincinnati, Oh at the age of 89.
Bob was born May 6, 1926 in Brownstown, Ohio, to Harold and Ruth Lindsay Martin. Known by his middle name, Carroll, he lived with his parents, grandparents and younger brother, Edward Gene (known as Gene) on the family farm. After moving to Cincinnati in 1943 to attend the University of Cincinnati, he was known as Bob. In 1944, he enlisted in the Navy and served his country from 1944-1946. Bob was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. In 1950, he married Juanita Rose Davis and went on to graduate from Chase Law School in 1953. Bob and Juanita had two children, Steve and Lori, raising them in Anderson Township. Juanita died in 1970 shortly after the family moved to their new house in Britney Acres. In 1974 Bob married Rebecca Gary, who had two sons, Jack and Eric.
Bob was devoted to his law practice forming close relationships with many long-term clients over the years. Although expecting to work to the very end of his life, he retired from practice in 2011. Bob was a faithful member for many years of Anderson Hills United Methodist Church rarely missing Sunday service until poor health prevented his attendance. Bob thoroughly enjoyed attending Reds and Bearcats games. He provided his alma mater University of Cincinnati with a scholarship benefiting future business majors from Brown County. Bob was also a fifty-year member of Sardinia Lodge No. 254 F&AM, a member of the Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Miller Martin, son The Honorable Steve (Sarah) Martin, Cincinnati, OH and daughter Lori (Michael) Mitchell, Chicago, IL, step-sons Jack Gary (Chris), Cincinnati, OH and Eric (Lori) Gary, Denver, CO as well as grandchildren Rachel Martin, Laura Martin, John (Erin) Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Katie Gary and Jay Gary.
Visitation will be held at TP White Funeral and Sons Funeral Home from 5:00-700PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. A celebration of Bob's life is scheduled for 10:00 AM at Anderson Hills United Methodist Church, 7515 Forest Road, Anderson Township. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob's life. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Anderson Hills United Methodist Church, 7663 Five Mile Road, Cincinnati, OH 45230 or to Sardinia United Methodist Church, 110 Graham Street Sardinia, Ohio 45171.
Private burial will be held immediately following the ceremony at Linwood Cemetery, Russellville, OH. The family would like to thank the entire staff of St. Theresa's for Bob's care and comfort these last few years as well as to Queen City Hospice.
