Rose “Rosie” was born in Regina Saskatchewan, Canada on September 1, 1927 to Dominic and Mary
Glasser. One of 12 children, she and her siblings were a close and talented bunch. They loved sports,
sing-a-longs at home and in church choirs, and bringing harmony to people’s lives. Rose and her siblings
loved playing cards, listening to Big Band music and back in the day, mixing in the Jitterbug. Rose loved
the simple joys of life. Rose married Ken Wingert on April 24th 1951 and uprooted their Canadian life and moved the family to Cincinnati, where they raised their family of seven children. Rose, a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary’s in Hyde Park, was an alto in their choir for 30 faithful years. She placed God first in her life and planted that seed of faith in each of her 7 children, 14 grandchildren who she cared for over the years, and 14 great grandchildren whom she doted on. Rose started each morning watching mass and praying the rosary for all on her prayer list, until God lovingly called her home. She loved her family deeply and welcomed all to her home every Friday night for delicious homemade dinners and Yahtzee marathons. A tradition dating back to the 80’s. Rose loved cooking, singing and having a cocktail with her girls. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and sharing tips on how to play better, often showing them how to hit a baseball like a pro. In her solo time, she loved her jigsaw and crossword puzzles and a good game of solitaire while watching her favorite Andy Griffith shows. Her kind and generous heart touched many, and she inspired others to do the same. She loved the moon and the stars, and thanked God for every chance she had to see them. We’re so grateful that we had her for 92 amazing years. Thank you for showing us what true love is. Now YOU are our shining star in Heaven. We love you to the moon and back, momma!
