Ross Murphy

Ross Alfred Murphy, husband of the late Betty Jean Murphy (nee Seibert); beloved father of Kathleen, Christopher (Daniel Kagan), & Carolyn Murphy; also survived by several nieces and & nephews. Passed away March 2, 2024. Ross was married to his wife & sweetheart Betty, for 63 years. He was a graduate of the University of The State of New York & Chase College of Law (1990). He was also a member of the Ohio State Bar & practiced law for 18 yrs, until retirement in 2008. Ross was also a licensed professional Engineer registered in both Ohio & Kentucky. He served proudly as a U.S. Marine Sargent during WWII & the Korean War. He was also a member of the 5th Marine Division, participated in the Battle of Iwo Jima & the post-war occupation of Nagasaki, Japan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thurs. March 7, 2024, at St. John Fisher Church, 3227 Church St., Newtown, OH, at 10:30am. Friends may visit the church on Thurs. from 9:30am-10:30am. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
