Ruby Dorna

DORNA, Ruby Lorena (nee Monday), aged 89, passed away peacefully February 18th surrounded by her family. Devoted wife for 62 years of the late William G. Dorna; cherished mother of Holly Dianne Dorna and Jan Lynne (Charles) Anderson; beloved grandmother of Heather (Todd) Leonard of Columbus, and Nicholas (Rebecca) Anderson and Patricia P. Anderson of Cleveland; new great-grandmother of Abigail Elise Anderson, born February 17th, daughter of Nicholas and Rebecca. Survived by twin brothers Carl (Alma) Monday and James C. (Bea) Monday, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Will be missed by long-time family friend, Dr. Judith Rhodes. Preceded in death by her husband and brothers James A. (Faye) Monday and Morrison (Lila) Monday. Ruby was a resident of the New England Club in Anderson Township. As a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, in her early adult life, she was a grade school teacher. She returned to that profession after her two daughters were grown. For their 1st wedding anniversary, her husband, Bill, bought her a new Singer sewing machine. It was a treasured gift that helped her become an accomplished seamstress. She delighted in making matching dresses for her girls. Ruby devoted her time, energy and love to her husband and daughters. She was an excellent cook and was \"famous\" for her carrot cake and banana nut bread. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church (MWPC), 6474 Beechmont Av., 45230, on Friday, February 22nd. Visitation at 3:00 p.m., service at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the MWPC Hunger Fund at above address. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery, 10 a.m. Saturday.
