Russell L. Coburn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Russell L. Coburn, Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Russ was born May 21, 1925 in Dayton Ohio. He was the son of Carl and Elsie Coburn and was the husband for 65 years to Marilyn (Hash)Coburn who preceded him in death. Russell was the father of Pam Coburn and Carl R. Coburn (Deborah), grandfather of Jackie (Coburn) Sikora, Natalie Coburn and Carl W. Coburn as well as great grandfather of three. Russ was a strong man of faith and lived his faith. A friend and encourager to all, he served as an elder and associate pastor of Hillside Bible church. He was a long time resident of Mariemont and Ivy Hills in Newtown. Russ was an agent with New York Life where he worked until age 87. He served his country in WWII in the Army Air Corp as a radio operator on a C47 flying over the hump. He still remembered Morse Code at age 97. Russ was athletic and was the National Aerial Tennis champion for several years. Russ lived his final months at The Glen care center where he received excellent care and attention. Funeral service will be held at the Mariemont Community Church Parish Center, 3980 Plainville Rd. on Tuesday, February 28 at 11:30 am where friends may visit from 10 am until time of service. A private family entombment will be held at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum. T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, serving the family. Flowers may be delivered to the funeral home on Monday where they will be transported to the church. www.tpwhite.com
