Ruth Mae Budai, 92, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on March 3rd, 2024. She was born on February 5th, 1932, in Cincinnati. Ruth dedicated her life to her husband and family.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Alexander J. Budai, parents Cecilia and Clarence Griffith, and brother Lawrence (Mary) Griffith. She is survived by her two children, Michael (Donna) Budai and Cathie (Michael) Frank, as well as six grandchildren, Sarah (Brandon) Bowker, Matthew (Julia) Frank, Christina (Lance) Angle, Meghan (Brian) Halvordson, Melissa Frank, and Brian (Meghan) Budai, and 11 great-grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by her sister Jean (Melvin) Larson, five nephews, five nieces, a close cousin Mary (Richard) Malloni, and her lifetime friend Barb (Wayne) Wilver.
While raising her young family, Ruth worked at Strathmore Press printing company as a layout and pasteup artist for many years. Later in life, she performed her civic duty as an election poll worker. She also volunteered countless hours working at the St. Veronica church festival.
Ruth was quick to make friends wherever she went. She enjoyed watching baseball and football, playing bingo at church and her various senior facilities, and trying her luck at the casino quarter slot machines. For decades, she had a passion for painting ceramics and then sharing them with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington. Visitation for family and friends will take place at the funeral home on Friday, March 8th from 10:00 to 11:00 am with a short service following at 11:00 am. Afterward, a graveside service will be held at 12:15 pm at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
