She Is Gone
Author: David Harkins
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you cant see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Sharon loved to travel. In the 1970s she was daring enough to take a five-week camping
vacation across the country with her family. She was fortunate in life to have fallen in love twice
and married her devoted husband, Roger, 27 years ago. Sharon and Roger were able to spend
time cruising, visiting grandchildren and seeing other parts of the world. Sharon took great joy in
entertaining. For many years she hosted her friends at Fruitcake making events and was well
known for her Christmas Eve parties.
Sharon truly lived her life. She was a past board member of SEM Terrace. Additionally, she was
a member of both the State and National boards of the League of Women Voters; past member
of the Society for Human Resources Professionals; and an Elder at Calvin Presbyterian Church.
She was a volunteer at the IPM Food Pantry and served on their board for several years. She also
was awarded the Fred & Lois Owlett One of a Kind Award in 2018 by Inter Parish Ministries.
Sharon served as president of the Cedar Ridge Homeowners Association in Pierce Township and
later, on the Woodlyn View HOA Board in Anderson Township.
During this time, Sharon worked as vice president of employee benefits at Provident Bank and
raised three loving children, Greg Arnst, Eric (Sheila) Arnst and Alison Rea (nee: Arnst). She
also was immensely proud of her grandchildren Alex, Caleb, Madelyn and Brandon and did her
best to spoil them.
We will celebrate Sharons life on Saturday, December 3 at Calvin Presbyterian Church with a
Visitation at 11:00am followed by a Memorial Service at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that contributions be made to the IPM Food Pantry
