Sheila Irene Ritchey, 77, of Cincinnati, OH passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 while residing at The Seasons living community. Born February 27, 1947 in Burlington, IA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Valeria (nee Link) Ricks and sister of Janet (nee Ricks) McGraw. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Michael George Ritchey.
Sheila was a 1965 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Burlington and went on to obtain her Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University. She held a successful career in physical therapy for over 40 years, touching lives at Good Samaritan Hospital and various Orthopedic Clinics in Cincinnati.
Sheila enjoyed spending time with family, cooking and sharing great meals with friends and naming every bird and flower on a nature walk. She loved reading, games and puzzles and her hobbies were knitting, quilting and crafting. Sheila's strength of character and resilience were second only to her genuine kindness and spirit of faith towards the friends and family who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three children, Emily Ritchey of Dublin, OH, Agatha (Matt) Aquilia and Alex (Dawn) Ritchey of Cincinnati; her six grandchildren, River (Hope) Bastin, Lily Ritchey, Andrew and Sydney Aquilia and Celia and Tobias Baranek; great granddaughter Sage; and brother Patrick (Mary Anne) Ricks of Dyersburg, TN.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM at All Saints Catholic Parish, 8939 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236. Family and friends are invited to deShas 11320 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249 for a luncheon following the services.
