Thomas "Tom" P. Gallenstein

Thomas "Tom" Gallenstein, age 92, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on September 28, 2023. He was born on December 3, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio where he remained an active, lifelong member of his Forest Hills/Cincinnati community.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, JoAnn; his 4 daughters, Anne (Rick), Mimi (Mark) Bateman, Trish Sullivan, and Jane (Joe) Runge; his 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He will be joining his beloved parents, Gladys and Paul in heaven.

Tom attended Guardian Angels Elementary School, Purcell High School, and the University of Cincinnati for both his undergraduate and graduate studies.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Tom exuded joy, especially in the presence of children. He had a ready smile usually accompanied by a kind and encouraging word.

Tom proudly served in the Army's Airborne Division for 2 years during the Korean war.

Tom had a lifelong career in education, serving in numerous roles from substitute teaching to school administrator and continued working part-time as a school psychologist into his early 70s.

Tom relished being immersed in his countless interests including harness horse racing; Christmas tree farming and ever ongoing building projects.

Mass of Christian Burial at Guardian Angels Church, Mt. Washington on Mon. Oct. 9, at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit at the Church on Mon. from 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will take place at Guardian Angels Cemetery.
