Timothy Holly

February 1, 1945 — October 19, 2021

Timothy J. Holly, age 76 of Anderson Twp., died October 19, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Kathy P. Holly (nee Murphy), devoted father of Chris (Tré) Mills, Kim (Keith) Braun, and Katie (Larry) Rhoads , loving grandfather of Emerson and Caroline Mills, Madison and Camden Braun, and Harper, Colton, and Cooper Rhoads, caring brother-in-law of Debbie (Mark) Porta, Sue Murphy and the late Michael Murphy, and dear brother of Kathy Holly and Judy Masterson. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Tim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late James and Joann Holly. He graduated from McNicholas High School. He left college to serve his country during the Vietnam War as a Drill Sergeant at Ft. Knox. After his service he went back to finish his college education at Xavier University. Tim spent his career as a lighting expert, retiring from National Maintenance Company in Bethel. He also served on the Sem Terrace Board of Trustees.

Tim married the love of his life Kathy in 1965, they have been married for 57 years. Tim’s lifetime passions revolved around his family. He spent all his free time coaching his daughters in several sports, but his passion was soccer. He went on to volunteer as the Director of the Cardinals select program for the Girls Southeast Soccer Association for many years while coaching his select teams to many regional and national tournaments. He also had a love for boating, gun collecting, cars and car shows. As both a father of 3 girls and a grandfather to 7, Tim never missed a sporting event, including traveling to watch his daughter play college volleyball all over the Southeast. He continued this with the grandkids until his health began to interfere. He loved his family deeply and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.

After 9/11 he felt compelled to serve his Country again and volunteered for the 111th Military Policy Company, 11th Military Policy Battalion of the Ohio Military Reserve. During this time, he was a sergeant major, non-commissioned officer in charge of the Ohio Military Reserve Academy where he was instrumental in crafting and implementing many of the Academy courses. For this service, he was awarded the noncommissioned officer of the year at a conference in Washington, D.C. in 2006 and received accolades from the Ohio House of Representatives. He was also awarded by Northern Kentucky University in recognition of generous service to the NKU Military History Lecture Series in 2009.
