Vernon Burch

Burch, Vernon, beloved husband of the late Wanda G. Burch (nee Hammons), devoted father of Greta M. (Dave) Fyffe and Betsy Jane (Scott) Barrett, dear brother of Jeanette Harvey, Beatrice Peters, Wilma Jean Wilson, Lola Watkins, Marlene McIntosh, Leon, and the late Clyde and Versel Burch, and Opal Howard, loving grandfather of Tommy, Kristin, Kelly, and Kathryn, and very special friend of Victoria Raymond, also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Died March 7, 2014. Age 88 years. Residence Union Twp. Services will be held at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church, 681 Mt. Moriah Dr., Withamsville, on Saturday, Mar. 15 at 12 Noon. Family and friends may visit at the church on Sat. from 11 am to 12 Noon. Memorials may be directed to Anderson High School Athletic Boosters or Berea College. Born on November 9, 1925 in Island City, KY (Owsley Co.) Attended Berea College and graduated from Eastern KY University with a degree in Biological Sciences. Served in the 544th Engineer Boat & Shore Regiment during WW II and as a Second Lieutenant during Korean War. T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home serving the family.
