William "Bill" Roberts Brockschmidt, beloved husband of the late Judith "Judy" Brockschmidt, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, at the age of 86. Bill and Judy shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Together, they cultivated a lifelong circle of friends who enriched their journey and shared in countless milestones.
He was the devoted son of the late Frederick and Jean Brockschmidt, a loving father to Diana B. Roof (Robert) and William R. Brockschmidt Jr. (Bradley Lake), and a cherished grandfather to Maria, Katie, and Chris Roof (Sarah), and Gabe and Ellie Lake.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bill attended both Withrow and Woodward High Schools, graduating from the latter in 1956. He enrolled at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he participated in the Marine Corps Reserves while pursuing his studies. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1960, Bill served active duty as a U.S. Marine Corps Military Police officer, stationed at Quantico, Virginia, with a tour of duty that took him to Okinawa, Japan. He retired from the Corps in the 1960s to begin a successful accounting career.
Bill's professional journey began at the firm Ernst and Ernst, where he honed his skills before establishing his own practice, Fleming, Brockschmidt, and Durkin. As a founding partner, Bill was known for his dedication, integrity, and expertise, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
A longtime resident of Anderson Township and later Montgomery, Ohio, Bill lived a full and vibrant life. He was an avid golfer and a proud member of Coldstream Country Club, where he formed lasting friendships. A passionate follower of all sports, he especially enjoyed tracking the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and college basketball teams.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, 6474 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, with a reception hosted by the family from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Twin Lakes Davies Center, 9840 Montgomery Road.
