William "Bill" Neary, beloved husband, dad, grandpa and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 21, 2022.
Bill was an amazing man who loved his family above all else. He and his wife Mary Anne were the true definition of love and devotion. They met 60 years ago at the University of Dayton and were married for over 55 years sharing countless memories of time with kids, grandkids and friends as well as wonderful travels, adventures and just special time together talking and laughing.
If you looked up the definition of loving father and father-in-law, you'd find Bill's photo front and center. Pam/Warren and Shawn, couldn't have asked for a better, more loving man to have learned from and been supported by. He was always there to help, teach, fix, talk or give a hug whenever needed. He will be missed dearly but they are blessed with incredible memories that will certainly help to keep him close to their hearts forever.
Bill was also considered the BEST Grandpa ever to Jason and Kendall. Grandpa was always so proud to be at as many recitals, concerts, baseball, soccer and basketball games as possible and for those who attended any of those, you always knew who Grandpa was cheering for!
The consummate friend-that was Bill! Whether it was the dear old Tipp City folks, including Butch and Cindy who have always been there for them through thick and thin, the London Court Gang who made Cincinnati feel like home from the first day they moved in or the Pickleball crew who he loved heckling each and every time anyone took the court-he was always the life and laugh of a room. He honestly didn't know a stranger and had an amazing way of making people feel like theyd known him forever.
A special thank you to the entire staff of Drs, nurses and caregivers at Christ Hospital. You all did more than we could have ever asked in helping Bill to fight the fight and more importantly, make his final hours peaceful and the way he wanted-with his family. You are truly angels.
Mass of Christian Burial for Bill will be held Tues. Nov. 29th at 10:30 AM at Guardian Angels Church in Mt Washington with a viewing at the Church from 9:00-10:30 AM.
While Bill was not a Vet himself, he had a very special place in his heart for those that have selflessly defended our freedoms. In lieu of flowers, friends can show their support of Bill and make a memorial gift in his name to the Military & Vets Program at Easterseals Redwood.
