Obituary for Joan F. Lefke

Lefke, Joan Ferriss, 82 years, of Anderson Township died June 24, 2016 from complications of Alzheimer's. She leaves behind, Lou Lefke, devoted and loving husband of 56 years, and children :Mark (Gretchen ) Lefke of Cincinnati and Cynthia (Nick) Cassidy Dublin, OH. Grandchildren : Christopher, Nicholas and Benjamin Lefke, and Joseph, Tess and Sara Cassidy. Joan graduated from Morristown High School, Morristown, NJ. She was a stewardess for Eastern Airlines for several years. She married Lou and earned a degree in Education from the University of Illinois. After settling in Cincinnati, Joan was involved with Anderson Hills United Methodist Church with many Bible studies and as a youth counselor impacting the lives of many teenagers with the love of Christ. She was an award winning artist, earning ribbons from various art shows around Cincinnati and the region. She attended Edgecliff College and the Art Academy of Cincinnati. After retirement she and Lou wintered in Florida for 25 years and met many close friends there. They also travelled the European continent extensively. Joan's love for Christ was always apparent in her actions and words. Celebration service will be Wednesday June 29, 2016 11:00am at Anderson Hills United Methodist Church.
