Obituary for Daniel E. Enriquez

Daniel E.  Enriquez
Daniel Espinoza Enriquez, beloved father of Annette Enriquez Serna and Lorena Enriquez Janes, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 18, 2017 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dan was born on January 30, 1932 in Worland, Wyoming to Luciana Espinoza Enriquez and Ygnacio Enriquez. In 1945, the family moved to Moxee Washington where he graduated high school in 1950. He attended Perry Engineering School and moved to Santa Monica, California. In California, he met and married Della Alarcon and worked at Lear Siegler. Dan moved back to Yakima in 1988.

Dan loved his family, and developed close relationships with many people. He formed the Enriquez Private Investigation agency in the 1980s in Oxnard, California and continued it in Yakima, Washington. He created the first Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Yakima, WA. Active in city politics and Hispanic issues, he received numerous awards and commendations from the cities of Oxnard, CA and Yakima, WA. He will surely be missed.

Dan was preceded in heaven by his sister Carmen E. Valadez, brothers Jess and Mike. He is survived by his sisters Lydia E. Rocha, Priscilla E. Catechis, Alice E. Serna; brothers Levi Enriquez and Victor Enriquez ; daughters Annette Serna, Lorena Janes; grandchildren Stephanie Serna MSN-FNP, Lt. Michael Janes, Andrew Serna, Steven Janes, and Nicholas Janes.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Comboni Mission Center located at 1318 Nagel Road, Cincinnati, OH 45255, with lunch reception following. Burial will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park Cemetery in Yakima, Washington; date to be determined. May he rest in peace.
